Dudley Academies Trust Year 10 learners get exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at Russells Hall Hospital
Year 10 learners from Dudley Academies Trust's four secondary schools were given a unique opportunity to explore Russells Hall Hospital, thanks to the trust's collaboration with The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. This collaboration aims to bring exceptional and unique career experiences to learners, fostering their interest in various National Health Service professions.

During the visit, the learners had the chance to delve into various departments, including operating theatres, pharmacy, occupational health, and maternity (ultrasound). This immersive experience provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the workings of a hospital and the diverse career paths available.
Zoe Turton, Senior Careers Officer at Dudley Academies Trust, remarked: "This behind-the-scenes experience is invaluable for our learners. It opens their eyes to the many career opportunities within the NHS and inspires them to consider futures they might not have previously thought possible."
The Trust extends a heartfelt thanks to the careers leads at the participating schools and all the staff at Russells Hall Hospital for their unwavering support in making this event a success.
In addition to the department tours, the learners attended a careers fayre organised by The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. This event allowed them to explore the myriad of exciting career opportunities within the healthcare sector and speak directly with professionals about their roles and the day-to-day challenges and rewards of their jobs.
The Trust has an award-winning careers provision which is provided across all six Trust schools. There is a dedicated careers team in each school which supports learners from early years up to Key Stage 4 and beyond with the support of its sponsor, Dudley College of Technology.
The visit was part of Dudley Academies Trust's ongoing efforts to provide learners with real-world insights and experiences that can influence their career choices and aspirations.
