Young children are often anxious, especially those who are neurodiverse. The equipment works to calm their emotions and has shown a direct impact on their recovery and experience in hospital.

The money was raised at 2024’s Midland PROPs Awards, which raises vital funds for disabled and disadvantaged children while also celebrating the very best in the Midlands property sector.

Nicole Hermanns, head of philanthropy at the hospital said: “We are so grateful for the incredible donation that allowed us to purchase the Manhattan II mobile sensory equipment.

“It has already had a tremendous benefit on our young patients and will continue to do so for years to come.

“The equipment has a range of features and even provides opportunities for children to play and enjoy their time in hospital as best as they can, allowing them to feel calm and parents to feel at ease.”

Lyn Staunton, Variety development director, said: “It is brilliant to hear the impact that last year's fundraising has had on children visiting Birmingham Children’s Hospital, helping them to improve their experience and allowing care to be administered easily.

“This year’s PROPs presents the opportunity to once again raise funds for disadvantaged and disabled children across the Midlands. I have no doubt that this year's ceremony will be truly inspiring and once again have a huge effect on young people in the Midlands that need our support.”

The search for outstanding companies and individuals in the property industry is just around the corner at the   Variety Midlands PROPs on April 10 at The Grand Hotel, Birmingham.
