Cian Burton, 21, has just passed his exams to become an audiology practitioner at Specsavers in the Ryemarket Shopping Centre, enabling the team to offer additional services such as wax removal and custom hearing protection.
Before joining the store as an optical assistant apprentice four years ago, Cian knew little about audiology, but through hard work and enthusiasm has completed his qualifications.
"It feels amazing to have passed my audiology practitioner qualifications," says Cian. "I originally started working at Specsavers Stourbridge as an optical assistant apprentice, but I took an interest in audiology whilst working on the shop floor.
"‘The team were happy to support me to complete the necessary training to get me to this point today, which I’m really grateful for. I feel passionately about providing great care to our local community, and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to undertake more training in future so I can continue to develop my skills."
Audiology director at Specsavers Stourbridge, Louise Fellows, comments: "The whole team is incredibly proud of Cian – his results were testament to his hard work and dedication, and we can’t wait to see him progress in his career at Specsavers.
"Having an audiology practitioner in store will allow us to offer additional hearing services to better serve our local community, which we’re really excited about. If you’ve noticed a change in your hearing, pop in to see us and we’ll do what we can to help restore some of the sounds that you’ve been missing. Whether it’s wax removal or a hearing device that gives your ears a boost, we’ll work with you to find a solution to suit your needs."
