In recognition of their “invaluable contributions to the local community”, chamber President Ruth Redgate presented Nigel Merritt, from Andy’s Man Club, and Djemillah Mourade Peerbux, of the Pathway Project, with their donations at last week’s monthly chamber meeting.

Both charities expressed their gratitude for the funding, which will bolster their coffers to continue their amazing work to support Lichfield residents in need of their services.

Chamber President Ruth Redgate, who is also CEO of Hunnypot Cottage Bakery, praised the work of both local charities, saying: “It has been a privilege over the last 12 months to learn more about the incredible support these organisations provide.

“We’re also delighted that both charities are now considering joining the chamber, allowing us to continue working together for the benefit of our community.”

Andy’s Man Club is a nationwide organisation dedicated to men’s mental health, providing peer support groups that create safe spaces for men to talk openly about their challenges. By fostering honest conversations, the charity helps break the stigma surrounding mental health struggles.

The Pathway Project, based in Lichfield, offers lifesaving support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse. Their services include refuge accommodation, outreach support, and a 24-hour helpline, ensuring those in need have access to crucial assistance.

The chamber’s incoming charities of 2025 are Lichfield Young Farmers and The Stan Bowley Trust.
