Stafford & Cannock League of Hospital Friends is a unique charity, in that it not only provides a range of retail services within local hospitals, but also provides supported housing for clients with enduring mental illness. The Board of Trustees is made up of experienced professional people who give up their time feely to provide guidance, direction and governance to the charity’s full-time management team.

Harold worked in the construction industry before taking early retirement, was chair of the board for five years overseeing the charity’s relocation from New Burton house to their current location in Eastgate Street, Stafford. Over this period the charity refocused their activities around supported housing and is now one of the largest providers of supported housing in Staffordshire currently supporting some 70 people, with enduring mental illness, in single person accommodation across Stafford and Cannock area. The charity continues to provide catering outlets at Cannock Chase Hospital, County Hospital and St George’s Hospital in Stafford. He is now vice chair providing operation support to the charity.

Alan Day was a finance lecturer for many years before retiring, and is now an active member of the board, at one time taking on the role of treasurer and company secretary.

Debbie Moores has extensive experience of working within the NHS and was head of Allied Health Professions with Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Debbie is now bringing that experience to the charity as part of the Governance Committee.

The charity continues to grow due to the ever increase demand for our supported housing services, from so many new and existing sectors. It now has some 33 volunteers providing much need support to the charity's catering activities, fundraising and in the past year has taken on a Meet and Greet Service for patience and visitors to Cannock Chase Hospital.
