The young people took part in a variety of adventurous activities, including hiking, tent pitching, shelter building, first aid, knife/axe skills, firelighting and pioneering.

The Cub Scouts had great fun constructing of a pioneered catapult, which launched an orange a distance of 10 metres!

It’s impressive not only because of the number of Cubs Scouts involved, but also because of the dedication required to complete the award, which takes around two years to accomplish.

This achievement demonstrates the power of Scouting to inspire young people to work hard, build resilience, and develop life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The Cubs’ accomplishments at the camp – including pioneering a catapult that shot an orange 10 metres – show the hands-on learning and adventure that Scouting offers. It also reflects the positive impact that Scouting has on young people, preparing them for the challenges ahead while fostering teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.

Volunteer Ash Wilcockson said: "We’re incredibly proud of the Cubs and the dedication they’ve shown to earning their Chief Scout Silver Award. It’s a huge achievement that takes years of hard work, perseverance, and teamwork. Seeing their confidence grow and watching them rise to the challenges is what Scouting is all about. This celebration camp was the perfect way to mark the end of their journey and a testament to everything they’ve accomplished."
