New Homes Week: Deposit Boost offer at Staffordshire development
New homes at a development in Tamworth have provided an economic boost to the area and now homebuyers can benefit too.
To mark New Homes Week (February 3-9), Elan Homes is hosting a special event at its Dosthill Gate development in Tamworth (February 8-9). Visitors will be able to view the show home, plus two styles of three-bedroom homes, with selected properties eligible for a 5% deposit contribution.
Elan regional sales director Tracey Ball said: “New Homes Week provides an opportunity to champion the benefits of housebuilding and how it can support communities. For example, at Dosthill Gate we’ve bought land unused for decades back into good use, providing much needed new homes. The development is now home to a mix of first time buyers, families and downsizers. Those homeowners are providing the local authority with additional council tax revenue, while linked to the development, we’ve invested £130,000 in the community. We’ve also supported a toy appeal for children in the area and encourage those working and living on site to shop locally.
“We’re extending an open invitation to anyone considering buying a new home in Tamworth to join us at the weekend (February 8 & 9) when they’ll be able to view examples of some of the homes and learn how we could help their money go further with a deposit boost.”
Elan has furnished examples of the Brocton and Thurston Max house types to help buyers appreciate the layouts and how they might use the space.
The Brocton offers 930 sq ft of living space. The lounge is at the front, leading through to a combined kitchen and dining room, with French doors opening out to the garden. A cloakroom completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has an en-suite, leaving the family bathroom to serve the other two bedrooms.
Set out over three floors, the Thurston Max offers 1,097 sq ft of carefully considered living space.
The ground floor is almost entirely open plan with a combined kitchen, dining room and lounge providing an inviting, sociable multifunctional space. French doors open out from the lounge to the rear garden, helping make the most of the outside space. A cloakroom completes this level.
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms – one that could be used as a study – and the family bathroom.
The main bedroom, with en-suite and dressing area, encompass the entire top floor, providing a tranquil retreat at the end of the day.
Prices at Dosthill Gate start from £299,995. There are homes that will be ready to move into before April 1 when changes to stamp duty come into effect.
Homes priced under £300,000 will remain stamp duty exempt for first time buyers, but those buying their next home could face an increase in the amount of tax they’ll have to pay if they complete the purchase of their new home after April 1.
Elan’s new homes in Tamworth are ideally placed with almost everything buyers could need within a few miles including schools and a supermarket, with shops and restaurants are around two miles away at Ventura Retail Park.
Wilnecote train station is only a five-minute walk away, offering direct links to Birmingham New Street in around 25 minutes including walking to the station.
Dosthill Park Local Nature Reserve offers 12 hectares of space to explore including a children’s play area, walkways and sculpture trail.
The open house event at Dosthill Gate takes place from 10am to 5pm on February 8 and 9. For more information about the homes see elan-homes.co.uk/developments/dosthill-gate.
