National retailer opens store in Cannock

Flooring Superstore has welcomed shoppers to its 4,000 square foot store on the Orbital Retail Park.

It joins other retailers such as M&S, Boots, Pets at Home and Aldi on the 123,000 square foot retail park close to the M6. The park was recently acquired for £27 million by British Land.

This is Flooring Superstore’s 44th national store and forms part of an expansion programme being carried out by the retailer which started life on a purely ecommerce platform in 2012.

The opening of the Cannock store has created three new jobs.

Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Simon Forrester said: “We are delighted to have been able to open our first store in Staffordshire and particularly in such a vibrant and growing retail area as Cannock.

“The recent acquisition of Orbital Retail Park by British Land, combined with the £20 million redevelopment of Cannock town centre are all major positives, so the site is perfect for us.”

Visitors to the store will have access to a wide range of quality flooring such as carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, ceramic tiles and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.

Simon added: “We offer a unique experience when it comes to buying flooring, not only because we can offer everything under one roof but also because we offer a service that is unrivalled in the flooring industry.

“We look to provide customers with a complete expert guide through the complicated flooring journey, including the use of augmented reality (AR) to help them visualise what flooring may look like in their own homes before they make a purchase.”

In just 13 years Flooring Superstore has grown from purely being an online retailer to becoming one of the leading flooring retailers in the UK, with outlets stretching from Glasgow in the north, to Plymouth in the south and from Norwich in the east to Swansea in the west.

A 45th store, in the North East open on 18 January and more are planned throughout 2025.
