The firm’s chosen charity last year, Dudley Community First Responders, received £26,000, which allowed the charity to purchase a new emergency response vehicle. Additional money raised was divided amongst 17 local charities in the region who each received around £300. Following a vote amongst its people, the firm has confirmed it will be supporting The Mary Stevens Hospice in 2025 as its charity of the year.

Tim Jones, Partner and Head of CSR at Higgs LLP, said: “We are very proud to once again support so many good causes in our region with donations. Our firm has raised well over £250,000 for charitable causes over the last decade and we look forward to supporting The Mary Stevens Hospice over the next 12 months.

“We were really proud to hit our 2024 target and purchase an extra response vehicle for Dudley Community Frist Responders. By doing this, the charity has been able increase its ability to attend 999 calls and cover a wider area of the community. The further smaller donations are equally as important to us and will really help the  other charities chosen by our people.”

Speaking about the new partnership, Ruth Longville, Business Partnership Fundraiser from The Mary Stevens Hospice commented: “We are over the moon and very grateful. Higgs LLP is a very well-respected Black Country firm and by committing to support the Hospice, they will help us to fund the care that we give to our patients and their families. We are looking forward to developing this exciting partnership with them.”

The bulk of the money raised in 2024 was through the firm’s ever-popular mid-summer six-a-side football tournament along with our autumn quiz. Other events included cake sales and a Christmas fair.

The balance of the monies raised will go to: Discover U Stourbridge, Dudley Stroke Association, Ravens Rescue, Brierley Hill Bank, Brockswood Animal Rescue, Birmingham Child Contact Centre, Brierley Hill Baby Bank, Violet Project CIC, Brandhall Community Hub, She Beasts CIC, Kids Clothing Project, Vision 4 All CIC, Monarchs Mutts Dog Rescue, Edwards Trust, Birmingham Black Lawyers, Winston’s Wish and Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

Higgs LLP is deep-rooted in the Black Country – its heritage is what drives the firm’s authenticity, passion and dedication, which has been passed down through generations, creating the unique ‘Higgs quality’ that sets it apart.
