Momma Sorrentis, a restaurant in Fallings Park, is recognised with a prestigious HERoes Award on Saturday, 11 January, after being nominated by Sureena Brackenridge MP.
The Trattoria, or small Sicilian restaurant serving regional specialities, is located on Long Knowle Lane, and has now been officially recognised with a national HERoes award, designed to recognise small, woman-led businesses across the United Kingdom.
Sureena Brackenridge, Member of Parliament for Wolverhampton North East nominated the local favourite for the awards ceremony.
“I was thrilled to be told Lorraine had won the award, and I was even happier when I could invite her to London and also present her the certificate in Wolverhampton.”
“While I was presenting Lorraine with her award, I couldn’t resist tucking into a delicious meal myself. It’s so wonderful to have such a prominent female-led business right here in Wolverhampton North East.”
The news came as a surprise to business owner Lorraine Blower, who added: “I am amazed to win this award, and am grateful to have been recognised by the judges and the local MP who nominated me”
“I love this community, having lived here all my life, and I will continue to serve excellent food in a homely, friendly place.”
