Prominent lawyer leads school law conference
Holly Lodge High School is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for its law students and those from Joseph Leckie Academy. On Tuesday, 28 January, the school will host a Law and Criminology Conference designed to inspire and support aspiring legal professionals.
The conference will feature a keynote address by esteemed lawyer Professor Inez Brown, a distinguished legal leader and a proud alumna of Holly Lodge High School. Prof. Brown will share her insights on the legal profession, offer valuable advice to students, and engage in a Q&A session.
The highlight of the conference will be a special competition where students will present their responses to thought-provoking questions posed by Prof. Brown. The student who presents the most compelling and insightful response will receive an extraordinary prize: personal mentorship from Prof. Brown herself until they successfully qualify as a solicitor or barrister. This is a priceless prize and a fantastic opportunity for these lucky students.
Prof. Brown served as president of the Birmingham Law Society, the first woman to hold this position in the society's 202-year history Her proudest moment during her presidential term was to set up a diversity inclusion scheme to help students from underrepresented groups access the legal profession.
This prestigious conference provides a valuable platform for students to explore their interest in law and criminology, gain valuable insights from a renowned legal expert, and connect with other aspiring legal professionals.
