Charity wants your unwanted Christmas gifts to help it to fight cancer with cutting-edge technology
The call comes from Lichfield-based charity The Stan Bowley Trust which works all year around to bolster its coffers to fund pioneering treatments for patients.
One of its key aims is to fund groundbreaking CyberKnife therapy, which offers advanced, non-invasive, precision cancer treatment with minimal intervention and recovery, at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
And you could help it to achieve its target in 2025 by donating your unwanted or duplicate Christmas gifts.
Unwanted Christmas gifts will help bolster trust’s fundraising coffers. The gifts will be used as either raffle, tombola, or auction prizes at events the volunteer-run charity holds or attends throughout the year.
Charity spokeswoman Rona Johnson said: “To support our efforts to arm the hospital with this revolutionary technology we will be collecting all unwanted Christmas gifts for prizes at fundraising events in 2025.
“Your donations will directly contribute to funding vital research and clinical trials that help save lives.
“Together, we can make a real difference in the fight against cancer.”
“As a volunteer-run charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue our important work. So, if you have any gifts that you no longer need or would like to repurpose for a good cause, we would love to receive them.
“Your support could make all the difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Together, we can make a real difference in the fight against cancer.”
