Tettenhall College triumph at ISA National Swimming Championships

Two exceptional swimmers from Tettenhall College made waves at the ISA National Swimming Finals, held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.

Representing the Midlands team and competing against some of the finest young swimmers, Year 7 pupil Daniel W and Year 12 pupil Charlie W delivered outstanding performances, securing silver and gold medals in multiple events.

Daniel showcased his incredible talent and determination in multiple events. He secured a silver medal in the Year 7 Boys Individual Freestyle before then going on to claim a gold medal in the Year 7 Boys Individual 50m Butterfly, settling a new personal best in both events. In the Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay, Daniel and his teammates narrowly missed a podium finish, placing 4th overall.

Meanwhile, Charlie competed in the Year 11/13 Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay. Demonstrating exceptional teamwork and skill, Charlie and his relay team secured the gold medal, breaking the national championship record in a thrilling performance.

“We are incredibly proud of Daniel and Charlie for their achievements at this national level competition” said Mrs Bate, Swim School Teacher at Tettenhall College.

“Their dedication to their sport, their resilience under pressure and their sportsmanship are an inspiration. They have not only represented The Midlands but have also set a benchmark for excellence at Tettenhall College.”

The ISA National Swimming Finals bring together elite swimmers from across the UK from independent schools. It provides a platform to celebrate talent and the pursuit of sporting excellence in swimming. Competing at the London Aquatics Centre, a venue renowned for hosting world-class events, made the occasion even more special for the young athletes.
