From Wednesday 18 December until Sunday 5 January (excluding 24-26 December), visitors can enjoy A Victorian Winter at Blists Hill Victorian Town. The town will be dressed for winter, with decorations and roaring fires. Children will receive a sweet treat when they complete the Charles Dickens Christmas Trail (additional charge), while in the Victorian schoolroom, they can get the help of the schoolteacher to write a traditional thank you letter.

Over at Coalport China Museum, from Saturday 21 December to Sunday 5 January (excluding 24-26 December), from 11am to 3pm, visitors can make a Resolution Rattle to help them keep their New Year's resolutions. Inside their air-dry clay rattle, they can slip a piece of paper containing their resolution, as well as some beads or dried peas. If their willpower wanes in January, shaking their rattle will remind them of their resolution. (£2 additional charge.)

In a free activity at Enginuity until 5 January (excluding 24-26 December) kids can pick up a special kit and make their own pop-up fireplace inspired by the cast iron fireplaces made in Coalbrookdale 150 years ago. This is a free, self-led activity allowing kids to personalise their fireplace with treats like stockings and mince pies.

To celebrate the arrival of the new year, the Furnace Kitchen in Coalbrookdale is offering a special New Year's Day Brunch menu on 1 January (10am-3pm), the chance to tuck into delicious dishes like a traditional English breakfast, blueberry pancakes or a bubble and squeak hash with Shropshire bacon chop and fried egg, all in the beautiful setting of Coalbrookdale.

Ross Davidson, Visitor Engagement Manager at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, said: “At the Ironbridge museums there are events to keep the whole family entertained during the Christmas holidays.”

All the Trust's museums and restaurants are closed from 24 to 26 December inclusive.
