Greenhous was awarded the title ‘Used Car Dealership Group of the Year’ – beating off competition from hundreds of rival businesses across the UK.

Thousands of automotive retailers, plus MOT testing stations and workshops, enter the Used Car Awards every year. Each one undergoes a rigorous judging process and mystery shopping test before the gongs are handed out at a glittering ceremony in London.

In the hotly-contested ‘Used Car Dealership Group’ category, assessors were looking for an easy-to-use company website, a great selection of vehicles for customers to choose from, and polite and friendly levels of service, whether experienced online, over the phone, or person-to-person.

Ashley Passant, Managing Director of Greenhous’s car division, said: ‘‘We’re absolutely delighted to win this award although I must say it’s a surprise! To win something like this is massively important for everyone involved in our operation – it’s great to achieve some recognition.’’

Ashley paid tribute to his colleague Danny Minshall, Regional Retail Director, who he said had played a key role in transforming the company’s used car operation in recent months.

Ashley said: ‘‘The work Danny has put in over the last 12 months and the changes he’s made have been a revelation at Greenhous.

‘‘The Used Car Awards are massively important. Across the industry it’s been a tough couple of years. But at the end of the day, everyone here tonight is trying to do their absolute best for the car-buying public – we at Greenhous are no different.’’

James Baggott, founder and editor-in-chief of Car Dealer Magazine, said: ‘‘This all-important award rewards the best used car dealer groups out there – they’re running complicated operations across multiple sites.

‘‘As you can imagine, our judges closely scrutinised all contenders. Competition was incredibly fierce but Greenhous emerged as the clear winner, so well done to all concerned!’’

Awards night compere, the TV host and automotive industry legend Mike Brewer, said: ‘‘Greenhous are well-known for the franchised new car dealerships they run, but it’s great to see that they attach huge importance to their used car operation as well.

‘‘As an impressively large company, their operation is multi-faceted but they make things very simple for the customer and this award is well-deserved. Nice one.’’

The Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards have been celebrating the top operators in the UK’s used car industry since 2012, rewarding manufacturers, car dealerships, workshops, and exceptional individuals working in the sector. They are organised by the UK’s leading automotive trade title, Car Dealer Magazine.
