The Group has Squirrels (aged 4 to 6), Beavers (aged 6 to 8), Cubs (aged 8 to 10), Scouts (aged 10 to 14) and Explorers (aged 14 to 17). All of the sections are open to boys and girls. The Group meets at Chasetown Methodist Church, WS7 4YE.

Jonas, aged 7, said: “I like Beavers as I can spend time with my friends and make new friends. The best activities are baking, games and going to the Snowdome.”

Piper, aged 12, said: “Being in Scouts is lots of fun. We’ve made fireworks, I’ve spent 15 nights camping, been on the Chase Walk and Jamboree on the Trail.” She added, “I was involved in helping to plan, organise and run an activity for the Cubs. This has helped me to work with others and gave me confidence.”

Chief Scout Dwayne Fields said, “Since opening in September, Chasetown Scouts have gone from strength to strength. They’ve recruited some fantastic volunteers, engaged local families and members of the community. Most importantly, they’ve created some incredible opportunities for fun, adventure and friendship for young people who live locally. It’s vital our young people get the encouragement and support they deserve to help them find their place in the world and become the active citizens of the future. I remember as a nine-year-old Cub Scout joining my local group. It meant so much having leaders who believed in me. It gave me the confidence to step up and begin a lifetime of adventure that’s taken me across continents. If people in Chasetown are thinking of volunteering on flexible basis, then we would love to welcome you to the Scouts family too. You’ll make new friends, use your skills and learn new ones. Everyone’s welcome here – all genders, faith (including no faith) and backgrounds.”
