Rotary club preparing for busy pre-Christmas days ahead
Santa is on his way! The Rotary Club of Cannock is preparing for the busy days leading up to Christmas this year.
Santa's first outing was on Sunday, 1 December, the sleigh, along with Santa of course, formed part of the annual lantern walk at Norton Canes.
The club is only too aware of the ever-increasing financial demands on families in December, so they are taking their Christmas Sleigh to a number of local events and supermarkets across the area. Children and their parents are welcome to come along and meet Santa bring their letters and to tell Santa what they want for Christmas at no cost other than a voluntary donation to the Rotary Christmas appeal, where 100% of all money donated is used to help those in need.
If you would like to meet Santa and his helpers, he will be at Tesco Heath Hayes on December 12, 15, 19 and 22; Tesco Hednesford on December 18, 20 and 23; Penkridge Market on December 18 and 21, and Asda Cannock on December 14 and 21.
The club is also planning visits to a number of local care homes in the lead up to Christmas.
Following last year’s collections donations totalling more than £5,000 were made to 11 local charities and good causes namely Acorns, Katharine House and St Giles hospices, Child of Mine, Hunting Kickboxing Clue, Seasons Theatre Company, The Park Road Advice Centre, Stafford and Cannock League of Hospital Friends, the Special Needs Adventure Playground (SNAP), First Responders and The Salvation Army.
