Burntwood Victoria FC is a grassroots football team based in the Staffordshire town, located close to Persimmon’s Norton Hall Meadow and St John’s Grange developments. The team sought support with funding for a new kit, pitch fees and equipment for the new season, which Persimmon’s kind donation will help to cover.

The cheque presentation was attended by Lee Perry, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes.

Nathan Schofield, Manager at Burntwood Victoria FC, said: “Burntwood Victoria FC extends heartfelt thanks to Persimmon Homes for their invaluable support through the Community Champions initiative. With grassroots football costs rising each season, many players face financial barriers to participate. This sponsorship allows us to reduce fees, ensuring that football remains accessible for everyone at our club.

“Sunday League football plays a vital role in enhancing the physical and mental well-being of players nationwide. Thanks to Persimmon Homes, we’re able to keep the sport affordable and available to all at Burntwood Victoria – a tremendous milestone for our club.”

Lee Perry, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in and doing this in the ways that have the most positive impact, whether this is to local schools, charities or in this case, to local sports teams.

“It’s a delight to be able to offer this donation to Burntwood Victoria FC, allowing the team to be provided with new kit and equipment ahead of the next season.”
