Rooftop Studios’ celebrates a festive first at Crown Wharf Theatre
Stone performing arts school Rooftop Studios made history as the first external group to hire the town’s new Crown Wharf Theatre.
On Sunday, 24 November over 50 students aged between 9 and 17 from both the Stone and Leek studios performed a festive medley in the ‘Christmas Cabaret’. The numbers featured students from across the studio’s key performance-based classes, including Vocal Smash; Performance Troupe; RTK street dance team and selected soloists.
Studio principal, Laura Keeling, says: “Being the first external group to perform in this very special new venue has been a real honour. We had a fabulous time and the feedback from the audience on both the performance and venue has been amazing. A huge thanks to the Rooftop creative team Claire Simpson, Alex Mellor, Antonia Bennett, Kit Henson and Verity Caddy, and to DB Audio Solutions for managing the sound production.
“Having a venue like this in the heart of our town really is a dream come true – the Crown Wharf team were a joy to work with and have been very welcoming and accommodating. We can't wait to perform there again next year and for our stage academy production in 2026.”
Christmas Cabaret proved such a hit that Rooftop Studios have decided to make it an annual Staffordshire Christmas tradition!
