Weekend parking is free at Lichfield multi storey on run up to Christmas
Visitors to Lichfield can benefit from free weekend car parking as Christmas approaches at the Friary Multi Storey car park.
The free parking offer follows the success last year, where footfall increased by 32% during December 2023.
Lichfield District Council hopes to welcome people to the hospitality offering of the city centre, where visitors can shop, eat and socialise with free parking making it easier to enjoy.
It’s available this weekend, Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December, Saturday 7 December and Sunday 8 December, Saturday 14 December and Sunday 15 December and Saturday 21 December and Sunday 22 December.
Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for High Street and Economic Development, Councillor Richard Holland, said: “Lichfield has so much for visitors at Christmastime; great shops, restaurants, bars and heritage buildings, and we want to make it as easy as possible for people to visit.
“The Friary Multi Storey car park on The Friary is free to use for the next four weekends and we hope this will help visitors to enjoy our festive city centre.”
All other car park charges in the city remain, and visitors are encouraged to make use of the other excellent public transport options available.
