New £1.5m vet practice opens doors in Kidderminster
A community-focused state-of-the-art veterinary practice has officially opened its doors in Kidderminster.
The modern £1.5 million practice, called Maggie and Marlow, features five consulting rooms, two surgical theatres, its own laboratory and dental, X-ray and ultrasound suites.
The new clinic, which is part of leading veterinary group Linnaeus, is based at Prospect House in Lion Square, which practice manager Rhiannon Cartwright says is perfect positioning as the surgery aims to be at the heart of the town’s community.
Rhiannon, a Kidderminster local and registered veterinary nurse, said: “We want to be the epitome of a ‘local vets’, working closely with, and for, the town’s community of pet lovers.
“A lot of time and thought has gone into designing the Maggie and Marlow practice to ensure we can provide our clients and patients with all possible treatment options within a safe and calming environment.
“As part of the practice design, we have separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, and comfortable consult rooms to give patients and their owners the space and privacy they need.
“It’s been a really exciting time as we have recruited our talented team, carefully designed the clinical facilities and invested in the best equipment to offer a full range of services.
“Along with clients dealing with our friendly and helpful reception team, they can also download a free 24/7 app offering advice from qualified vets, customised articles and an online appointment booking system.”
David Walker, chief medical officer at Linnaeus, said Maggie and Marlow aims to make a major contribution to pet care in Kidderminster and surrounding area, especially with its keen focus on preventative care.
He explained: “Preventive care is really important to the wellbeing of our pets. It can help to reduce the need for urgent care and possibly the need for more advanced veterinary treatment.

The attention to detail at Maggie and Marlow has even extended to the re-fitting of the building, with sustainability considered throughout the new practice’s design.
The practice has recyclable vinyl flooring, ceiling tiles and acoustic panelling with LED lighting throughout. Air source heat pumps power the heating and cooling systems while also circulating fresh air throughout the building.
