Why This Matters

In the UK, one in four people will experience a mental health problem each year. Tragically, every 90 minutes, someone dies by suicide, with men accounting for 76% of these deaths. For every life lost, there are 80 to 100 attempts, each a desperate cry for help that too often goes unanswered.

About Tough Enough To Care:

Tough Enough To Care was born out of a pressing need to address the mental health crisis and change these devastating statistics. Our founder, Stu Bratt, a former military man and passionate rugby player, was inspired to act after losing two friends to suicide within days of each other. In male-dominated environments where feelings are often buried, Stu knew something had to change. Thus, Tough Enough To Care was born.

Since our inception, we have supported over 6,000 people across the UK, establishing 10 peer-to-peer support groups for both men and women in the East and West Midlands. In partnership with SHOUT, we fund a dedicated text helpline that connects our service users directly with trained counsellors and mental health professionals. We also deliver Mental Health First Aid training, empowering individuals to assist others in crisis before it’s too late.

Join us on December 8 and help make a difference in your community!
