Celebrations at Rugeley home as senior nurse marks 15-year service
A senior nurse at Rugeley home marked 15 years at her workplace.
Louisa Simpson works at MHA Briar Hill House and was acknowledged by the home for her services with some flowers and a certificate of achievement.
Louisa started working at the home in 2009 after she was made aware of the role by a friend who worked at the home.
MHA Briar Hill House provides residential and nursing care for 36 residents.
Speaking after the presentation Louisa said: “It was a nice surprise to get the flowers and certificate.
“I feel very content with myself after working here for 15 years, and I am someone who doesn't like to change where I work.
“Working at MHA Briar Hill House works well for me, as I live fairly close by.
“The support and kindness of fellow colleagues and the management team is what has kept me here and I am very grateful for that.
“Working in social care you have to be compassionate and approachable.
“You need to be patient, not only with the residents but with yourself as well.
“You need to develop resilience and be able to cope with difficult situations and make sure you have the knowledge on the residents' diets, needs and wishes.”
