Local contractor builds community spirit with Midlands volunteer programme
A team of volunteers from Caddick in the Midlands has downed tools for the week to offer a helping hand at a number of community schemes across the region as part of the business’ Communities Week volunteer programme.
The volunteer initiative formed part of Caddick’s annual Communities Week programme, which launched last year as part of its wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, Places for Life.
Building on the business’ continued efforts to support the communities local to its projects, the second Communities Week saw staff donate over 400 hours to good causes across Yorkshire, the North East, North West and Midlands.
Each initiative was chosen by Caddick volunteers with work in the Midlands focusing on nature settlements, gardening and improving green spaces for local people to enjoy. Part of this volunteer work was based at Exhall Grange Specialist School and Birmingham Settlement Nature & Wellbeing Centre.
Ray O’Sullivan, Regional Managing Director for Caddick Construction Midlands, comments: “Contributing to and building communities is a really important aspect of what we do at Caddick, which is why we are proud to contribute to our region in such a valuable and personal way. By investing this valuable time, we have seen both our employees and the local community benefit from these green improvements, and we hope the community finds joy in these new spaces.”
