Football meets Art: Former Wolves player to open Hagley Art Exhibition
Former Wolves professional footballer, Jody Craddock, will open the Hagley Art Club 35th Annual Exhibition on Friday, 22 November.
Once a legendary defender, he is now renowned for his portraiture, graffiti, and photorealism. Jody has a second career as an artist, with his portrait of Sir Jack Hayward hanging at Molineux. So the club was delighted he accepted our invitation to open our event.
Our artists know the pleasure of seeing their work exhibited too, and the Annual Exhibition is the highlight of the year. It is also very popular with local art lovers who enjoy the opportunity to view the work, with all styles and mediums, both traditional and contemporary.
It is also a chance to get some early Christmas gifts, including cards and crafts, unframed original works, and even buy that one-off personal piece of work for a loved one or even yourself - there is something for everyone, even if you only want to browse.
In the middle of the display is our lovely art cafe, selling homemade cakes, and hot and cold beverages.
The exhibition at Hagley Community Centre, Worcester Road, Stourbridge, officially opens at 7.30pm on Friday, 22 November, and then open 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday, 23 November, and Sunday, 24 November. Entry is free.
