May was extremely pleased to have received a card last year from King Charles after turning 105 and one prior to that in 2018 from Queen Elizabeth for her 100th birthday.

May has always been a dancer and taught tap and ballet in her early years, she spent the war years travelling the country with ENSA (Entertainments National Service Association) entertaining the troops. Originally from Manchester, May moved to Staffordshire in 2016 to be closer to her daughter Christine who lives in Brewood. She also has a son, Andrew, who lives in Lancashire and visits on a regular basis as well as two granddaughters and two great grandchildren who live locally.

May really enjoyed her birthday, celebrating in the company of family and friends at Wheaton Aston Court Care Home where May now lives.
