The unlucky stopper suffered a detached retina after being hit in the face with the ball. The 23-year-old was taken to hospital on Saturday after Yeltz's 2-1 win over Ramsbottom United.

The club have revealed that he was fortunate to see a specialist as he could have lost the sight in his eye.

Kidderminster-based Platt lost his front three teeth during a friendly against Tividale in August.

Backed by the Express & Star, an appeal was launched to 'Put a Smile on Platty', raising more than £850 to buy the player a new set of teeth.
