Saddlers fans have already snapped up thousands of tickets for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Bristol City on March 22.

And Mr Lees, who is best known under his stage name Just Bev, is joining in the celebrations after being approached by Walsall fans to write a song for the memorable occasion.

The new song, called Deano's Black Country Heroes has already been played on the radio and he has put it on an album, Walsall at Wembley 2015, which is being sold at the Saddlers Club and contains 11 other songs he has recorded over the years.

The father-of-one, of Daisy Meadow, Tipton, was formerly a guitarist for local rock-and-roll cover band, The Wazzocks, and now performs solo in pubs and clubs across the Black Country. The 61-year-old recorded the new song at a recording studio in his home and is selling the albums for £2, with 50p from every sale going to Walsall Society for the Blind.

He said: "I'm an Albion fan but I have a lot of Walsall friends and I am delighted they got through.

"A couple of Walsall fans asked me to do the song. Most of the lyrics came to me in the space of a few hours and I completed the track in a week. It's called Deano's Black Country Heroes after Dean Smith." He added: "I'm really pleased with it. They are already playing it on the radio. I hope they will be singing it at the match."
