Bloxwich Library was chosen from hundreds of applications to be one of only 24 sites across the country to get a visit by Julia Donaldson.

Youngsters from Bloxwich C of E school, Elmore Green, Leamore Primary and St Peter's Catholic Primary School headed to Bloxwich Library Theatre to hear her stories come to life. Mrs Donaldson donned pink fairy wings and a tutu as she told some of her most-loved stories, aided by her musician husband Malcolm.

Children's Laureate Mrs Donaldson said: "They were such lovely and enthusiastic kids. Their performances were great."
