The Jets and the Sharks will battle it out on stage when a production of West Side Story comes to Wolverhampton.

Wolverhampton Youth Music Theatre is staging the show as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

The show will run at the Arena Theatre from today (Tuesday 8th September) until Saturday.

Cast members promise a high-octane performance featuring the classic showtunes Maria, America and I Feel Pretty.

Taking up the lead roles are Alec White, aged 18, from Penn, as Tony and Stacey Powell, 19, from Pattingham, as Maria.

The show is being dedicated to the group's founding director Lesley Woodyer, who died earlier this year.

The curtain rises at 7.30pm and tickets cost £5 or £9.
