Talented students from a school in Wolverhampton will be hoping their acting is not rubbish when they take to the stage tonight.

The youngsters from the King's School in Tettenhall are performing their show Garbage at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton at 7.30pm.

The show is all about recycling and the costumes have been made from rubbish such as old sweet wrappers, crisp packets and newspapers. The students designed the costumes and set by themselves.

The school's assistant to the principal Karen Tomlinson said the youngsters had worked very hard in preparation for the show.

"The students designed all the costumes and worked very hard and had to be quite inventive," she said.

"We do a production with the students every year. They are always amazing.

"Garbage is all about sustainability and how we can encourage this in our own lives."

Around 40 pupils aged 11-16 from the school in Regis Road perform in the show.

Tickets for tonight are available from the Arena Theatre in Wulfruna Street priced at £3 for adults and £2 for concessions.
