Wrestlers are to visit Darlaston for an event to inspire youngsters to try the sport.

The professional event is being held at Darlaston All Active in Willenhall Road on Friday. Top competitors including super heavyweight Robbie McGregor from Glasgow, Matt "Hammer" Mensa and Jim and Lee Hunter will be wrestling on the day.

Sessions will then be held at the centre to encourage teenagers to take up the sport. Sharon Felton, trustee at Darlaston All Active, said: "We wanted to do something for teenage boys and thought wrestling would be a good idea. It is a very disciplined sport."

Doors open from 7pm and the first bell is 7.30pm. Youngsters will be able to sign up for sessions at the show. Tickets are priced at £5 each or family tickets at £17.50 and can be obtained from Darlaston All Active by calling 0121 568 6144.
