A family is enjoying the sweet taste of success after an old-fashioned Black Country shop proved a hit.
Sue's Traditional Sweet Shop in Union Street, Wednesbury, has been trading in the town since July and is now attracting as many as 200 people every week.
The shop, run by mother-of-two Sue Wilkinson, aged 56, from Leabrook Road, Wednesbury, sells sweets from JJ's confectioners, of Lye, Stourbridge.
Sue launched the business after being made redundant from her job as a catering assistant.
The shop stocks sweets made by her husband John, 58, and his friend Brian Jay, 58, from Pendeford, Wolverhampton, who run JJ's confectioners.
"Since Christmas we have seen lots of people coming through the door," said Sue.
"One of the things that makes it such a special place around here is because of the old-fashioned layout."
The most popular sweets include pineapple rock and rhubarb and custard.
