Paul Mullin's 40th minute header had given League Two outfit Accrington Stanley a half-time lead, before Chris Iwelumo's first goal for Wolves restored parity.
He followed on from his 73rd minute header with an extra-time goal to put Wolves in the lead for the first time, only for Ian Craney to restore parity in the 104th minute - just two minutes later.
Davies, on for Michael Gray just eight minutes earlier, gave Wolves the lead again before Accrington's Robbie Williams was dismissed for a second bookable offence at the death.
