Snow lovers brave cold for fun and photographs
Welcome to Sledgley.
Even though the first glimpse of snow this year didn't arrive until late in the evening, those who could not get enough of the white stuff strived to make the most of the conditions while they could.
Snow fell across the West Midlands on Tuesday evening, causing trouble for commuters but giving others an opportunity to embrace its beauty.
Keen photographers got out their cameras to snap artistic shots of their area covered in a glorious white blanket, while others took to fields and streets to enjoy some fun in the snow.
Ryan Bradley, 14, from the Brownswall Estate in Sedgley took his sledge out at 10.30pm in an effort to enjoy the snow while it lasted.
He said: "I love the snow and even though it was late me and my dad decided to get our sledges out and try and make the most of it.
"There is a hilly street just opposite us so we didn't have to go far to enjoy ourselves.
"I try and use the sledge whenever I get the chance so as son as I saw the snow falling I couldn't wait to get out there."
Keen photographer and blogger Mike Maynard, from Wednesbury, took a beautiful shot of a local street where the snow had covered the road, rooftops and cars.
His photograph, which had been edited to enhance the visual effect of the snow, captures the peaceful stillness of a cold winter night.
Forecasters have said the wintry weather will continue throughout the week, with snowfall expected on Saturday and next week.
