Michal Zyro facing long lay-off as Wolves boss slams challenge
Michal Zyro could be set for a long spells on the sidelines after suffering cruciate knee damage in the win over MK Dons.
The Polish forward was stretchered off at half time after a high and late tackle by Dons defender Antony Kay, who was only award a yellow card by referee Mark Heywood.
Kenny Jackett said he thought Kay should have seen red - and that a first look at the injury didn't look good.
"It's some type of knee ligament injury," Jackett said.
"We hope it's not too bad but the first impressions aren't good.
"I think the tackle warranted a red, that's my opinion. My first impression was it was a bad tackle."
It's just the latest in a long line of injuries for Wolves this season.
They've already lost Nouha Dicko, Jordan Graham and Razak Boukari to knee ligament injuries this season.
Zyro himself spent two months out with a calf injury and only returned recently, while Ethan Ebanks-Landell, David Edwards, Emiliano Martinez, Kortney Hause and Mike Williamson have all endured long spells on the sidelines.
Jackett added: "There's nothing we can do about it now (Kay not being sent off).
"I hope Zyro is okay but the initial assessment isn't a good one for his knee."
