Tom Bradshaw hails Saddlers partner for assist
Goal hero Tom Bradshaw today thanked strike partner Ashley Grimes for the part he played in his dream Walsall debut.
The two debutants combined to earn the Saddlers a point in Saturday's League One opener at Port Vale, with Bradshaw netting the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
But the 21-year-old summer signing from Shrewsbury was quick to praise Grimes for the pass which put him through on goal.
"I have thanked him a couple of times for the pass, I have watched it back a couple of time and it was a great pass," said Bradshaw.
"It is what strikers like myself hope for in every game and Ashley had a tremendous game, he really did.
"I think there is more to come and goals to come from Grimesy as well."
Bradshaw's leveller cancelled out Tom Pope's first-half opener for Vale as the spoils were shared.
"It was a better finish than I thought it was," added Bradshaw. "It all happens so quick that you don't really have time to think.
"I thought it was creeping wide at first but when I saw it go in I was buzzing, both for myself and the team."
More than 1,100 Saddlers fans made the trip to Vale Park and Bradshaw added: "The support we got was massively appreciated.
"Scoring the first for your new club, and showing to the fans that you can score goals, is a good feeling."
