The Caribbean Premier League just witnessed the most outrageous one-handed flying catch

This shouldn’t have been possible.

T20 cricket rarely fails to deliver excitement and the first few matches of the Caribbean Premier League have been no different.

Chris Gayle had been at his best during the first innings for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, knocking the ball around for 66 not out and providing heaps of entertainment.

But when the Patriots went out to field the fun didn’t stop – with Fabian Allen running and launching himself off the ground to catch the ball one-handed by the boundary, with it travelling at an incredible speed.

Not seen enough? Here are some more angles…

Wasn’t that just phenomenal? And you know it’s special if Ian Bishop says it’s the best he’s ever seen.

The odds-defying catch sent Jason Mohammed back to the stands – and to make it even more spectacular Allen had come on as a substitute.

In the end the Patriots beat the Guyana Amazon Warriors by four runs, and it’s not all that surprising when shots like these were flying around.

What a game of cricket.
