Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has been given a three-match touchline ban from the Copa del Rey.

Simeone was sent from the dugout during Tuesday’s quarter-final second leg against Sevilla, which his side lost 3-1 to complete a 5-2 aggregate defeat.

The Argentinian received an automatic one-match ban which was extended by a further two after he sarcastically applauded referee Juan Martinez Munuera.

He will serve his punishment in next season’s competition and is clear to occupy the dugout for Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Las Palmas.
