Football rumours from the media
Will Romelu Lukaku return to Chelsea – and will Antonio Conte still be there if he does?
What the papers say
Chelsea could miss out on re-signing Romelu Lukaku in the summer.
The Everton striker, who is refusing to sign a new deal at Goodison Park, is wanted by his former club, but the Sun claim he is put off by Antonio Conte’s style of play and could consider a move to Manchester United.
Staying at Stamford Bridge and the Sun also report Conte could be ready to splash the cash on Belgium midfielder Radja Nainggolan and Germany defender Antonio Rudiger for a total of £70million.
However, if the Express are to be believed Conte will not be at Stamford Bridge next season. They say the Italian is being lined up to become Barcelona’s new manager, with the LaLiga club still yet to announce a replacement for Luis Enrique.
The Telegraph are reporting that five clubs are monitoring Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Arsenal, Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham are all keeping tabs on Pickford, who could be allowed to leave for £25million following Sunderland’s relegation.
Tottenham could face a mutiny from their players after the club announced a post-season friendly in Hong Kong.
According to the Guardian and the Sun, Spurs want to boost their profile in Asia with a game when the season ends, but the players are unhappy.
