Transfer Rumours - March 24
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
Kevin Doyle has ruled out returning on loan to England in the off-season after he makes the move to Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids.
The Wolves striker, still just 31, will end a six-year association with the club when his contract expires at the end of the season and head overseas.
But he said: "I'm going to have a nice Christmas off. After 10 years without being in Ireland, I'm going to have a nice few weeks at home with the family."
WEST BROM
West Brom defender Jason Davidson has cast doubt over his future by suggesting he may leave the Hawthorns to search for regular first-team football.
The 23-year-old Australia international has made just two appearances for the club, since moving from Dutch club Heracles Almelo last summer.
And he admits his frustration at sitting on the sidelines could yet force him to actively seek a move, which could alert clubs back in Holland.
He said: "I want to be happy playing football and whether that's at West Bromwich or another team, then so be it."
He was on a season-long loan at West Brom less than three years ago, but now Yassine El Ghanassy is struggling to find himself a club.
The Baggies flop never completed the campaign and was moved onto Heereveen and Al Ain, before Belgian club Genk released him last summer.
The 24-year-old, who has one full Belgium cap, was close to a two-year contract at Kazakhstan side Kairat Almaty, but that deal has now collapsed.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa will battle with West Ham for the signature of Queens Park Rangers' star striker Charlie Austin when the season draws to a close.
The 25-year-old will be hot property and even more likely to be available if Rangers go down, but Villa top-flight status is also not yet secure.
Manager Tim Sherwood is confident enough to add Austin to his list of targets, though, with the claret and blues among the lowest goalscorers in Europe.
WALSALL
Walsall winger Romaine Sawyers is attracting interest from a host of clubs after his part in the Saddlers' run to Wembley for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
Premier League sides Stoke, Leicester and Burnley have all been linked alongside Championship outfits Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield and Birmingham.
