Luke Becker is raring to go as Wolverhampton Wolves start in Norfolk
American ace Luke Becker can’t wait to finally get Wolverhampton’s season started at King’s Lynn tonight (7.30pm).
The club have seen their opening two home meetings washed out after over 500 days without racing at Monmore.
Now Parrys International Wolves hit the road to Norfolk with a dry forecast to get their Premiership season underway.
Becker said: “I’m really excited about the new season here in the UK and really want to get going.
“We have a good team here at Wolverhampton and we all get on great, I’m looking forward to it.”
Becker admits he’s looking forward to teaming up with fellow countryman Broc Nicol, who makes his debut at Lynn.
“It’s a great opportunity for Broc and I’m excited to be in the same team as him,” he said. “We’ve raced together a fair bit back in the States and it’s a big opportunity for him now in England.
“I know they talk about the Americans they have had down the years in the Wolverhampton team and I hope we can make an impression for the fans.”
Rising star Tom Bacon also makes his Wolverhampton debut, with Sam Masters, Becker, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas and Rory Schlein all retained from last season’s proposed squad.
King’s Lynn include Ty Proctor, a league winner with Wolverhampton back in 2009 alongside Tai Woffinden and Freddie Lindgren. Lewis Bridger is also making a comeback after four years in retirement.
King’s Lynn: Craig Cook, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Lewis Kerr, Erik Riss, Lewis Bridger, Ryan Kinsley.
Wolverhampton: Sam Masters, Luke Becker, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Broc Nicol, Tom Bacon.
