Sam Masters opts to spend winter in the UK
Popular Australian ace Sam Masters has ditched plans to head home this winter to stay in the UK.
Wolverhampton racer Masters managed to get some meetings in on the continent this year after the entire British season was wiped out.
And he’s ready to use the downtime constructively as he bids to be as competitive as possible on his Monmore Green return next spring.
“We are looking at staying in England this winter as there is so much hassle in trying to get back home to Australia,” he said.
“We would all have to self-isolate in a hotel for two weeks and it would cost a fortune for the privilege so it makes sense to stay here.
“We are settled as a family and have our own house here in Shropshire so hopefully the weather isn’t too cold.
“I will be planning on making the most of staying here trying to find new sponsors in the area. It’s something I have really neglected in the past, as I haven’t really had the time to chase any companies properly.
“It’s going to be hard given the current climate we are living in but I’m going to try and see if any companies want to come on board and support me in 2021.”
Luke Becker is celebrating victory in the American Under-21 Championship at Perris Raceway.
Becker, who is set to return to Wolverhampton next spring, notched 14-points.
