Broc Nicol chasing his Grand Prix dream
Wolverhampton signing Broc Nicol is heading back to Europe to chase a dream of Grand Prix qualification.
American ace Nicol will ride in the GP Challenge on August 22 in Croatia.
He’ll be looking to become the first stars and stripes rider in the series since Greg Hancock last rode in 2018.
He said: “It’s an honour to get the pick to represent my country in next month’s Grand Prix qualifier in Croatia.
“I have to travel to the UK next week and self isolate for a couple of weeks before I think about the meeting.
“It will be a tough meeting for sure but I’ve had a couple of meetings at Perris over the past month and felt really good on the bike and have plenty of self belief right now.
“It’s the next step on the ladder for me and having tasted the qualifiers before this one-off meeting will be a first but I know if I can put five starts together on the day I can compete and beat anyone in the field.”
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton have offered their congratulations to British youngster Robert Lambert who was crowned European Champion in mid-week.
And the Grand Prix series has also been confirmed over eight rounds, six in Poland and two in Prague, during August, September and October.
The Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations (World Pairs) will also go ahead at the end of October at Belle Vue with Lambert set to partner Wolves asset Tai Woffinden for Great Britain.
