Broc Nicol eager to get racing at Monmore
American ace Broc Nicol is keeping his fingers crossed he can show his skills for new club Wolverhampton this year.
Nicol made a brief trip to the UK in March when he was set to link up with his Monmore Green colleagues – but the moment sport was cancelled he got the next flight back to California.
And with British club bosses issuing a statement on Tuesday saying they are ‘100 per cent committed’ to staging some sort of season, Nicol wants to be back over here as soon as it is allowed.
“I’m grateful to be able to spend time with close friends and family back home, but I’m itching to get back on a bike and start my career with Wolverhampton,” he said.
“It’s a great career move for me and I was so looking forward to getting going and scoring some points.
“I’ve picked up a new sponsor from the area and I was pumped to wear the Wolves race suit.
“Hopefully we are going to be given the green light sooner rather than later to head back over to England, but we will have to wait and see.”
The British season is currently on hold with a further review planned for June 15.
