Wolverhampton have pulled the plug on tonight’s play-off semi-final with Swindon – but they’ve quickly rearranged for this Wednesday.

It means the tie with the Robins will be decided over two nights with a vastly improved weather forecast – the second leg goes ahead as planned at the Abbey on Thursday night.

Parrys International Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “We would like to thank our landlords Ladbrokes for their co-operation in allowing us to race on Wednesday instead of tonight.

“We looked at the forecast and remained hopeful until this morning when the rain was worse overnight than anticipated and tonight just won’t be possible.

“The forecast is clear for Wednesday and Thursday so we can get this tie done over two nights and the play-offs don’t have to be delayed any further.

“We have made the call this morning to minimise inconvenience and hope everyone can come along on Wednesday and get behind the boys. We are expecting two really close meetings with great entertainment.”

The winners will face Ipswich in the Grand Final next week.
