Wolverhampton Wolves hit the road in quest for vital away win

Parrys International Wolves ended a run of six straight defeats with a home triumph over Swindon on Monday.

That moved them to within four points of their next opponents– who currently occupy fourth spot in the Premiership standings.

And Wolves have already given Peterborough one scare on their own ground this season when they came from 12-points down to narrowly miss out 46-44 in the Premiership Supporters’ Cup in April.

American reserve Luke Becker scored four points on that occasion but is looking to build on that experience and carry momentum from his paid-11 haul on Monday.

“I felt good in that one and hopefully I can have another similar score at Peterborough,” Becker said.

“I’ve been there once already now which is a bonus for me; I scored in every ride and I figured it out more each time I went out there.

“So hopefully I can take that knowledge with me and have another good one for the team.

“We rode a lot better as a team on Monday and hopefully we can take some confidence from that one.

“It’s that time of the year now where every single point starts to seem even more vital.

“As Pete (Adams - team manager) told us on Monday, we have got meetings in hand on the teams above us - but we know we need to pick up some away wins from somewhere and hopefully we can start that at Peterborough.”

Wolves are at full strength while the hosts will operate rider replacement for Hans Andersen at No.1 who is ruled out through injury.
