Cradley Heathens make a change
Cradley Heathens have moved to make a team change ahead of their trip to Mildenhall on Sunday.
Lewis Whitmore, who has scored four points in four meetings since joining the Heathens, has been released by the club and been replacemed by former Birmingham rider Sheldon Davies.
Davies, from South Yorkshire, has been without a club this season but has been doing some second-half racing at Perry Barr. And he said: “It feels great to be joining a club like Cradley.
“I know they have a lot of experience in the team and hopefully I can benefit from that. I want to come into the side and help add some points there they’ve been lacking, it’s a big opportunity for me.”
Davies will make his debut at Mildenhall on Sunday.
Club co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “We don’t like making changes but we felt we had to strengthen up in this position.
“Lewis wasn’t making the progress we wanted to see, but it’s a shame because he’s a good lad and he was very understanding when I told him.
“We welcome Sheldon who has experience in the National League and hopefully he can give us that little bit of extra strength.
“There’s a lot of positives this season so far, despite the defeat by Belle Vue at home, and we have some important meetings to come – starting at Mildenhall on Sunday.”
