Rain forces Wolverhampton speedway meeting to be rearranged
Wolverhampton have reluctantly pulled the plug on tonight’s eagerly awaited NGK Spark Plugs Olympique, rearranging the meeting for Monday October 22nd.
With more rain forecast through into the afternoon, club bosses made the early decision to minimise inconvenience for fans.
Club bosses were left devastated by heavy rain throughout Sunday and into today which left them with no other option.
However, thanks to superb co-operation from various parties they have now got the green light to try again in seven days.
Parrys International Wolves co-promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “It’s been a hectic morning trying to make this happen and I’m so pleased to have been able to pull it off.
“My gratitude must go to meeting sponsors NGK, Jubilee Fireworks, UK Life Medical Services, Ladbroke Stadia and our special guest, triple World Champion Tai Woffinden, for their prompt co-operation.
“It’s a great opportunity for riders to showcase themselves for next season, including the likes of Kyle Howarth and Sam Masters who I’m sure would love to be back with us at Wolverhampton.”
Meanwhile, the management talk-in which was due to take place at the Cleveland Arms that night will be rescheduled.
