Tai Woffinden’s exclusion anger
Tai Woffinden has spoken of the ‘total injustice’ over his controversial exclusion which ended his hopes of a semi-final spot in the Slovenian FIM Speedway Grand Prix.
The former Wolves ace Woffinden ended on five points in Krsko was excluded from heat 16 for not being ready to race as the two minutes-warning ended. Woffinden said: “I would prefer to focus on the bigger picture here and I still have a handy lead in the World Championship.
“I don’t wish to add fuel to the fire, but for me the decision to exclude me was a total injustice. The pictures, the evidence shows that. They speak for themselves and we have clear TV evidence of several other races where the two minutes were up and riders were not ready to start the race but were not dealt with in the same fashion as me.
“I have considered an appeal to the FIM jury but I’m advised even if they decided to find in my favour the decision cannot be changed.
“It’s a major disappointment but I now have to be ready for Teterow and Round 9.”
